Hog Ringer New Year

If you don’t have “own a Pneumatic Hog Ringer” on your 2019 New Year’s Resolutions, then you are missing out. Hog ringers, also known as C-ringers, are an extremely useful tool when it comes to certain applications. If you aren’t really sure when you would need one, here is a list of resolutions you might have in the coming year for which a hog ringer would be the perfect tool!

Resolution: Open a vineyard. In the new year, you want to bottle your own collection of Cabernets. Any vintner worth his grapes will tell you the foundation of a good wine is the soil. A sandy loam is probably the best for producing healthy vines, but good drainage is really the most important consideration. In order to keep the soil rich, well drained, and prevent erosion, you need to build gabion walls. These are large bales of small to medium-sized boulders caged in wire mesh. The most critical tool for building your gabions? A hog ringer.

Resolution: Become a trending furniture maker. You like to work with your hands and you have a love of woodworking. You’ve made a bench or a coffee table from reclaimed wood now and again, but this year you want to go next level and add upholstery. Choosing the right fabrics will be tricky but attaching them won’t be as long as you have – you guessed it – a pneumatic hog ringer. Channel your inner Nick Offerman with pride, knowing you have the right skills and the right tool for the job.

Resolution: Build the Model-T of the next century. You’ve long admired Henry Ford and his ability to innovate so far ahead of his time. You’re an ace in engineering and you’ve worked out the mechanics that will revolutionize automobiles. They key is that it not only has to run like a dream but be sleek and luxurious for the driver as well. That full-grain Merino leather won’t do you any good if it’s not installed with quality and precision. Good thing you have your hog ringer handy to install it.

Resolution: Move off the grid. There are plenty of doomsday preppers out there thinking they’re ready for the end game when the time comes. They have a garden, a couple of cows, a pig, and a flock of chickens. You may think the hog ringer is to prevent your hog from rooting, but the tool is rarely used for its namesake purpose any longer. The chickens, however, invite predators who are quite cunning and will need protection. A well-constructed chicken coop is critical to keeping your hens safe. You must use the right size wire and build it with care using your gabion hog ringer.
